A proximity switch is a position switch that can be operated without direct mechanical contact with moving parts. When an object approaches the sensing surface of the switch to the operating distance, it can be activated without mechanical contact or any pressure applied, thereby driving DC appliances or providing control commands to computer (PLC) devices. Proximity switch is a type of switch type sensor (i.e. contactless switch) that combines the characteristics of travel switch and micro switch, as well as sensing performance. It has reliable operation, stable performance, fast frequency response, long application life, strong anti-interference ability, and is also waterproof, shockproof, and corrosion-resistant. The products include inductive, capacitive, Hall, AC, and DC types.
The main functions include:
1. Inspection distance
Detect the stopping, starting, and passing positions of elevators and lifting equipment; Detecting the position of the vehicle to prevent collision between two objects; Check the set position of the working machinery and the limit position of the moving machine or component; Detect the stop position of the rotating body and the open or closed position of the valve.
2. Size control
Size control device for metal plate punching and shearing; Automatically select and identify the length of metal parts; Detect the height of the stack during automatic loading and unloading; Detect the length, width, height, and volume of items.
3. Check for the presence of objects
Check if there are product packaging boxes on the production packaging line; Check for product parts.
4. Speed and speed control
Control the speed of the conveyor belt; Control the rotational speed of rotating machinery; Control the speed and number of revolutions together with various pulse generators.
5. Counting and control
Detect the number of products flowing through the production line; Measurement of the number of revolutions of a high-speed rotating shaft or disc; Component count.
6. Abnormal detection
Check if the bottle cap is present; Product qualification and non conformity judgment; Check if there is a lack of metal products inside the packaging box; Distinguish between metallic and non-metallic parts; Whether the product has a label inspection; Crane danger zone alarm; The safety escalator automatically starts and stops.
7. Metrological control
Automatic measurement of products or parts; Control the number or flow rate by detecting the pointer range of measuring instruments and meters; Detecting buoys to control the height and flow rate of the measuring surface; Detecting iron buoys in stainless steel drums; Control of the upper or lower range of the instrument; Flow control, horizontal control.
8. Identifying objects
Identify right and wrong based on the code on the carrier.
9. Information transmission
ASI (bus) connects sensors at various positions on the device for data round-trip transmission in the production line (50-100 meters).
